Church Letterhead Examples
Church letterhead designs for traditional and contemporary congregations, with free Word templates and ideas for making every letter feel welcoming.
Traditional Church Letterhead Example
Grace Community Church · Centered
Service times in the tagline turn every letter into a quiet invitation, which most church letterheads miss.
Parish Letterhead Example
St. Mark's Parish · Logo left
Naming the rector under the parish name tells the reader who the letter speaks for. Deep red and gold feel traditional.
Modern Church Letterhead Example
New Hope Fellowship · Footer band
A modern sans-serif and a footer band suit a contemporary congregation. The top stays light and welcoming.
Word downloads have a simplified, editable header without the sample logo. Choose Customize with your logo to add your own logo or print the full layout.
What to include on church letterhead
- Church name, plus the denomination or diocese if you belong to one
- Logo or symbol: a cross, a building outline or your congregation's own mark
- Street address, and a separate mailing address if mail goes to a PO box
- Office phone, email and website
- Clergy names: senior pastor, rector or priest, and sometimes associate staff
- Service times (optional but effective), so every letter doubles as an invitation
- Tax-exempt status: some churches add a line for donor acknowledgment letters
Where church letterhead gets used
Churches send more formal letters than you might expect: donation and tithing receipts, letters of recommendation and membership transfer, wedding and baptism confirmations, facility use agreements, letters to the city or diocese, and visa invitation letters for visiting speakers. Consistent letterhead makes all of these look official and trustworthy.
Matching your congregation's style
- Traditional parishes often choose centered serif type, deep red, navy or forest green, and a gold accent. See St. Mark's Parish above.
- Contemporary churches lean toward clean sans-serif fonts, brighter colors and a footer band. See New Hope Fellowship.
- Use your existing branding. If your church has a website, bulletin or sign design, match its logo, fonts and colors.
Practical tips
- Keep a master template in a shared drive so volunteers and staff all use the same version.
- Update clergy names promptly when staff change. Digital templates make this free.
- Create a version without service times for formal or legal correspondence if you prefer.
- For donation receipts, check current tax guidance for your country on what an acknowledgment letter must state.
